Vienna, The Capital City of Austria 💞

The sexiest city in the East of Austria, which lies on the Danube River which has rich history and culture. It attracts tourists from all over the World.

I would firstly recommend you guys to hold a proper debit card or exchanged currency to Euro(€) back from your country as there are a lot of scams going around few money exchange offices and at the ATMs. Before exchanging the money at any Exchanges look for the exchange rates on the internet to avoid frauds. Also, many cash machines charge alot of charges. To avoid this, I would recommend two debit cards namely @Revolut and @N26 where one can add money from your main bank accounts and they have option to convert one currency to another currency within seconds and there will be no charge on this.

As I have mentioned in my last blog on Czech Republic , it’s good to use the same MAP for Austria travel.

Important places to visit:

  • The Hofburg.
  • Schonbrunn Palace and Gardens.
  • St. Stephen’s Cathedral
  • The Belvedere Palace
  • Prater Park
  • The Vienna state Opera House
  • Vienna City Hall
  • The Albertina
  • Hundertwasserhaus
  • Collegial and Parish Church of St. Peter
  • The Austrian Parliament

Few places charge entry fees but few places have free entry and discounted entries if you hold Vienna Pass.

There are large number of Luxury hotels, Mid Range Hotels and Budgeted hotels in the city. The best recommendation is always to use @Booking.com.

I would recommend to enjoy your breakfast once at Cafe Central, an old restaurant and make sure you make time to wait in the long queue if it’s a public holiday or a weekend.

Travel card is an integrated pass which holds good to Underground, Trams, Buses and Urban railways. They have 24/48/72 hours passes. Underground trains starts at 5am up and till midnight and on Fridays and Saturdays it runs 24 hours.

Historical Czech Republic

Czechia(Czech Republic) is one of the historical and romantic places in the central Europe which is surrounded by Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland.

PRAGUE: Is the capital of Czechia which is known for its royal historic and colourful buildings which is intersected by Vlatava river.

Prague is a small city which has a wide range of things to see and do during the stay. We spent two and a half days but we couldn’t cover places in detail. I would personally recommend to plan for atleast 3 to 4 days to enjoy the very local sites. Every small bit is amazing.

Transportation:

Public transportation is cheaper, they have single trip passes, 30 mins passes, 24/72 hours passes, etc., which holds good for buses, trams and subways.

Since it’s a small city I would recommend to explore the city by foot, unless to a few places which are quite far from the city centre. Those buildings are truly beautiful and would never want to miss any nook and corners.

Tram no.23 travels all over the city and one can enjoy the night in one trip (if you prefer to).

There is an App called @mapy.cz which is very user friendly where one can add all the places in the checklist to the app map and number the places accordingly to visit and it’s easy to even change the numbers what place is near to visit next which saves a lot of time.

Important places :

  • Charles Bridge
  • Prague Castle
  • Old town square
  • Golden Lane
  • St Vitus Cathedral
  • Wenceslas Square
  • Jewish Quarter
  • Municipal House
  • Powder Tower
  • Dancing House (7th floor for the city view) entry €4 or buy a drink.
  • Mala Strana street
  • Municipal library city elevator
  • Lennon wall Grafity
  • Top at the St.Nicholas church for the best view.
  • Venice of the Prague
  • Petrin Hill

There are various places to try out the best of Prague’s food.

  1. Lokala for local food
  2. Grand Cafe Orient
  3. Jidelna
  4. Medieval Bar at Celetna street

Well….!!! Try out all the best in the most romantic city in middle Europe and share all your experiences with me in the comment box. 😊😊😊😊😊

Astonishing Netherlands 🤩🤩🥰🥰

A must visit place in one’s lifetime. Astonishing beauty all over…

AMSTERDAM

Is the capital city and famous for its canals, houses, the historic buildings, Red light district and many more….

We visited during the Tulip festival and all the prices were very high during the season. And I could say it was highly worth it. I can say, I couldn’t take my eyes out off the tulips.

Public transportations:

Can buy a 24hours day pass for metro, buses and tram connections which is €8 or can either rent a cycle. They have very good cycle ways and could explore few more places.

Places to visit :

Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, stedlijk museum, etc.,

Canals are world famous and never miss out an opportunity to enjoy the canal cruise.

Amsterdamers use their private boats and enjoy the family/ friends parties on the their boats.

De Oude Kerk church is one of the famous churches in Amsterdam which dominates over the Red light district. The red light culture is seen beside the church.

People from around world come to experience the Tulip festival at the Kuekenhof gardens, which is in the town of Lisse , approximately a 45 minutes journey from Amsterdam. Entry fees might vary every year. But my personal opinion is to visit the Lisse if you are hiring a car from amsterdam and enjoy the tulip fields enroute the gardens which gives a natural feel of tulips than at the Kuekenhof gardens (if you’re on a budgeted trip) and this will take a 4 to 5 hours(even more if you’re photographing more).

Zaanse Shans is a beautiful place , near to Amsterdam where you can experience a historic windmill and Green wooden houses.

ROTTERDAM:

Rotterdam is known for its Ports in NETHERLAND. It is called as Port City and also it’s well known for its modern Architectures.

Erasmus Bridge, The Markethall ,Cube houses at the centre and huge buildings in the city are truly amazing.

One can enjoy the view at the harbour during early mornings and can experience the ships moving for the trading from one place to another.

A weekend in Belgium 😊

Ahhh..!! 😊After an amazing trip to LUX, we added BRUSSELS to our diary.

We spent a wonderful weekend in Brussels on 30th and 31st March 2019. One should never miss visiting this place if you plan for Europe trip.

Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is the headquarter of Europian Union.

Brussels is usually a safe place but the risk is pickpocketing and small crimes in the train stations and subways at times. We have few friends who experienced the above petty crimes(targeting couples). So we thought its safer to join a group. We decided to go on walk tours.

How to get to Brussels ????

‘Regiojet’ and ‘Flixbus’ are the public transports. These buses travels throughout Europe. In which Regiojet provides a good hospitality on board. If not, trains are also available. All the way we travelled to Brussels from Luxembourg which was a 3 hours journey by bus, we reached the hotel around 6 am on 30th.

Accommodations:

There are numerous hotels in the city which have very good amenities. Prices varies depending upon the day which you are planning to visit. Our hotel prices were obviously higher than the regular days since it was a weekend. Yet one can pre- book hostels if you are looking for budgeted accommodations.

Our hotel was “Game of Rooms” situated near to the Gare Central station and it was a 15 mins walk to the hotel, medium value for the money. Plus point is its situated very near to the city centre and just few minutes walk.

Day 1: “VIVA” offers free walking tours for 2 hours with a guide, they give the best information about the city. We started at 10am, we were able to cover almost all the historical and market places in the city.

Below are the must visit places :

Manneken Pis

It’s the best known symbol of the people of Brussels

We were done with the first walk tour and we were amazed by the guide and decided to take another walk tour to the European parliament.

We had an hour time for the next walk tour and wanted to grab food. With the help of our guide, we rushed into a small sandwich shop at the square. Sandwiches were delicious…. yummy !!!!!

Walking tour towards the new Brussels…!!!

Food to try 🌭🍟🍻

Belgium waffles are famous and never miss trying out one. Will find fresh waffles on the road sides which are sold on the trucks in the mornings. Solid taste….. !!!!

Fries

People interested having alcohol mostly try Belgian beers as they are world famous. Here are the few places to try out the best in Brussels .

Shopping :

This can be done anywhere in the city. Most of the souvenirs are the Manneken Pis idols available at all the shops.

Day 2 :

We started our journey to Tervuren(city in Belgium) for yoga workshop and inner engineering talk conducted by Isha foundation at Pachthof Stroykens. We had to take a train and a bus to reach the place. Enroute to Tervuren from Brussels is astonishing. Tiny houses on the road sides were amazingly built. I couldn’t take my eyes out off it.

The workshop went very well and we had to leave the place around 6pm back to Brussels to take our connecting bus to LUX.

  • Try to join groups.
  • Summer is the best time to visit.

Tiny Luxembourg ❤

LUXEMBOURG- Our first country to visit together in Europe after our Wedlock 💞

This tiny country is landlocked by 3 wonderful countries namely Germany, France & Belgium and people speak German, French and Luxembourgish. Very few speak English. This country has the capital, named Luxembourg city(same as country name). Its one of the safest places in the world which has less crime rating and expensive country 😮…..

On 23rd Feb 2019 our journey started from Esch-Sur-Alzette by train to Luxembourg city, it’s almost a half an hour journey. Tickets are cheaper which costs €2 for 2 hours and €4 for the full day pass and the same can be used for buses and trams.

We visited Grand Ducal Palace, serving as residence of Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

Grand Ducal Palace

The city view is amazing..

Streets in Luxembourg…

Places to Eat

There are number of restaurants. Vegan restaurants are also available in the city centre. The one which we visited was “Nirvana cafe”. Food was delicious but bit HIGHER PRICED. One must try these vegan curries…..

Mixed vegetable curry

Or if you want something to hog quickly to save your time the city has many fast food restaurants close by the Gare Central Station.

Accommodations are bit high priced, earlier booking may give a bit of discounted rates. It’s good to find hostels which are safe to stay.

MANY MORE PLACES TO VISIT IN LUX….!! 😊
